Whyte vs. Chisora II results: Dillian Whyte knocks out Dereck Chisora

23. 12. 2018

Fighting to a controversial decision in the first fight, Dillian Whyte scored a decisive knockout victory against Dereck Chisora in their rematch.

After eleven hard-fought rounds, Dillian Whyte (25-1, 18 KOs) scored a huge knockout win over Derek Chisora (29-9, 21 KOs) in a rematch of their thrilling 2016 fight, which Whyte won by 12-round split decision.

In the opening rounds of the fight, Chisora did a good job of maintaining a high output of punches, whilst Whyte preferred to sit on the back foot and try to catch Chisora as he came in. The body shots and combinations of Chisora played a big part in winning him some rounds, but Whyte was still very much scoring points of his own finding success with the uppercut as Chisora pushed forward.

Chisora’s success with the body shots came back to bite him in round eleven, when the referee deducted him a point for a low blow, however the punch seemed to land on the belt-line and Whyte did not complain about the strike. Come the ninth round it was evident both men were slowing down, with Chisora still pushing on but having much less snap in his punches.

Midway through the eleventh round, Chisora was deducted another point for an attempted upward elbow after clinching with Whyte. Later in that round as both men broke from a clinch, Whyte landed a massive left hook that sent Chisora to the canvas, and unable to get up the fight was stopped.

Official result: Dillian Whyte def. Dereck Chisora by KO, round eleven.

In the ring after the fight, Whyte called out for a fight with Anthony Joshua who was ringside on the night. Joshua came to the ring and stated although current WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is his next target, if that fight is not made he will fight Whyte next.

Despite the point deductions, two judges had Chisora ahead 95-94 in the eleventh round, and the other had Whyte ahead by the same score.
