UFC officially announced that BJJ specialist Charles Oliveira will take on rising prospect David Teymur on the undercard of the event in Brazil.
Currently on a three-fight winning streak, Charles Oliveira (25-8-1 NC) finished each of those bouts by submission; tapping out Clay Guida, Christos Giagos and Jim Miller, and establishing himself as the record holder for the most sub wins in the Octagon, with 12. Oliveira’s last loss came in December 2017, when he was knocked out by Paul Felder.
Swedish prospect David Teymur (8-1) is undefeated in the Octagon and will look for his 9th straight win heading into the bout with ‘Do Bronx.’ With wins over the likes of Nik Lentz, Drakkar Klose, Lando Vannata, Jason Novelli, and Martin Svensson, the 29-year-old hasn’t lost a fight since his MMA debut, back in October 2013.
Oliveira is expected to take on Teymur at UFC Fight Night 144, on February 2, in Fortaleza, Brazil. The card will be headlined by a bantamweight rematch between contenders Raphael Assuncao and Marlon Moraes.
